James Wabwire Agoro joined the Women's Refugee Commission in 2012 as the SAFE Project Coordinator based in Bukavu, South Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo. He is leading a pilot project that will ensure that crisis-affected populations in the Great Lakes region of Africa have safe access to appropriate, sustainable cooking fuel and alternative energy technologies.

James has over 10 years of humanitarian experience, primarily in livelihoods, food security programming and protection work, as well as in strategic program development, media and communications and management of multi-donor projects.
