When i found out that there are over half a million or more people in Sri Lanka homeless makes me wonder how much my government or for that matter of fact any third world country will be able to provide any basic necessity to the multiplying number of refugees.
I was ignorent about refugees and its not just a term used on people who have lost their everything its a term with much more gravity and it hurts me so much to know there are so many people who have partted from their loved ones because of someone elses war.
Although in Sri Lanka half million is the recognized number of refugees there are close to another couple of millions who have left their homeland to states like USA, Canada, Australia and UK. Though many do not want to go back, there are many who would love to set their feet on their mother land.
There are immense number of people trying to bring about a balance in the world while the gruesome reality of war leaves us refugees, who have no proper shelter, food, sanitation and more than anything the freedom like as in Sri Lanka where the government is controlling the refugees under close observation.
Its sad to think this is a common sight world over.
