From the corporate corner office to the refugee camp, women are making change happen in their own lives and advocating passionately for others. The Women's Refugee Commission and Thomson Reuters co-sponsored a panel of distinguished speakers who talked about their critical efforts to ensure that women can advance politically, economically and socially. The speakers were Zainab Hawa Bangura, Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict; Ambassador Jeanne D’Arc Byaje, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Rwanda to the United Nations; Yasmeen Hassan, Global Director, Equality Now; and Debra Walton, Chief Content Officer, Financial & Risk, Thomson Reuters. The panel was moderated by Lisa Anderson, North America Correspondent, Thomson Reuters Foundation. Patsy Doerr, Global Head, Diversity & Inclusion/CSR, Thomson Reuters, introduced the panel, and Sarah Costa, Executive Director, Women's Refugee Commission, made concluding remarks.
