    Catherine LaCour is a seasoned strategist, innovator and marketing executive, with deep experience building brands that provide value and drive connection. She believes the best marketing engages, emotes, and creates conversations that drive real change.

    Catherine serves as senior vice president of corporate marketing for Blackbaud, the world’s leading cloud software company powering social good. She is responsible for Blackbaud’s global brand, corporate communications, public relations and other strategic functions, working to deliver an outstanding experience to the nonprofits, foundations, corporations, education institutions and other organizations Blackbaud supports in their missions to build a better world. Catherine is also head of the Blackbaud Institute for Philanthropic Impact, which brings together the best minds in philanthropy to develop and share leading-edge research and insight that accelerates the impact of the social good community.

    Before joining Blackbaud, Catherine was the vice president of marketing and product management at Regent Education, a software provider in the higher education space. Prior to Regent, she served in other marketing leadership roles including working in Africa for the International Telecommunications Union, an arm of the United Nations.

    Catherine has a Master of Business Administration from American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) and a Bachelor of Science from the College of Charleston. She has served on a number of nonprofit boards supporting international development and women’s issues. She currently serves on the College of Charleston Graduate School’s Advisory Board as well as on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Refugee Commission, a non-profit advocating for laws, policies and programs to improve the lives and protect the rights of refuge women and children. She is a frequent speaker and panelist on marketing trends and best practices, including how brand and employee engagement intersect.

    In 2017, Catherine was named a Fellow by Liberty Fellowship, a South Carolina leadership initiative. Liberty Fellowship is part of The Aspen [Institute] Global Leadership Network, a worldwide community of leaders from business, government and the nonprofit sectors who share a commitment to enlightened leadership and to using their creativity, energy and resources to tackle the foremost societal challenges of our times.

    Catherine lives in Charleston with her husband, John, and is a runner and equestrian.
