    Responsibilities Include:

    • Serve as a member of the Senior Management Team, supporting all Senior Team members, reporting to the Executive Director;
    • Provide HR leadership in all areas of HR including benefits administration, compliance, recruitment, compensation, employee relations, performance management, policy review and creation;
    • Recruiting – ensure the organization attracts, retains and develops top talent (i.e. post, source, interview and hire for all staff, and fellowship roles);
    • Employee Relations – coach, counsel and advise on a myriad of issues including but not limited to performance issues, policy questions, benefit questions/inquiries, general and complex workplace challenges, etc.;
    • Performance Management – lead annual performance review process, introductory period reviews, advise on performance issues and progressive discipline, advise on salary planning;
    • Administration – management oversight of benefits administration (medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, Life Insurance commuter benefits, insurance plan audits, annual open enrollment, compliance testing);
    • Resolve any payment or policy issues (e.g. incorrect benefit coding, questions regarding FSA, STD/LTD, 403b plan);
    • Workforce planning and organizational review - advise on the optimal organizational structure to allow the most efficient/cost effective manner of integrating workforce planning into the fabric of the organization;
    • Ensure organization in compliance with all State and Federal requirements and update policies accordingly;
    • Maintain employee information and changes;
    • HR reporting.

    Requirements for the Position:

    • 8-10 years HR Generalist experience in small to mid-size organization in a stand-alone role;
    • Bachelor’s degree required;
    • Experience and understanding of HR strategy, organizational design, compensation, recruiting, benefits administration, compliance, employee relations, performance management;
    • Ability to manage both the strategic and the transactional and comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously;
    • Excellent communication skills and able to quickly establish collaborative working relationships with staff at all levels;
    • Extensive experience making HR decisions in highly sensitive areas.

    Personal Competencies:

    • Keen understanding of HR standards, structure, process and procedures;
    • Ability to lead workforce planning and organizational review;
    • Advise on the optimal structure to allow organization to operate efficiently and cost-effectively;
    • Capable of balancing budgetary constraints with robust HR benefits, programs and support for staff to ensure professional development and retention;
    • Proven ability to be a steward of organizational culture, finding balance between management and organizational requirements as well as employees desires/needs.
