    Communications Assistant (Part-Time)

    The Communications Assistant will be responsible for managing a range of administrative, logistical, and support services to the Communications department, reporting directly to the Director of External Communications and working closely with the Digital Media Officer in producing online content.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Produce daily media/press clips for WRC staff.
    • Assist the Digital Media Officer in creating multimedia assets for WRC’s social media.
    • Assist the Digital Media Officer with quality control of public-facing materials, including reports, fact sheets, emails, etc.
    • Assist the Digital Media Officer in maintaining a WRC database for multimedia assets, particularly for photography and storytelling.
    • Assist in the production of web and brand guidelines.
    • Monitor the organization’s general email inbox and assist the Digital Media Officer with coordinating responses.
    • Maintain internal database of Communications assets.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or graphic design.
    • Excellent writing and editing skills.
    • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud a plus.
    • Familiarity with content management systems and email service providers a plus.
    • Strong communications skills.
    • Thorough research and analytical skills.
    • Highly organized. Comfort in Excel a major asset.
    • Must be willing to do administrative tasks.

    Location: New York, NY

    Position: Part-Time

    Reports to: Digital Media Officer

    Timeframe: January 2019 through May 2019 (Start and end dates negotiable)
