Haiti Talking Points, January 2010

Published

The earthquake that occurred in Haiti on January 12, 2010, has wreaked untold damage and loss of life on a country already burdened by poverty, poor infrastructure, and weak governance. Children have been particularly affected by the tragedy unfolding in Haiti, and must remain a core priority in rescue and relief efforts, as well as in the long recovery that lies before the Haitian people in the weeks, months, and years to come. This document includes a series of measures we urge the US government to consider to protect Haitian children.
