Ensuring Fair Treatment of Women, Children, and Families Seeking Asylum in the United States

This document highlights the Women’s Refugee Commission’s work on ensuring US law protects unaccompanied children, families, and women who are seeking asylum and allows them to make their asylum claims. We believe that asylum seekers should not be held in detention, but when they are, they must be treated humanely and have access to legal counsel and medical care.
