CNN: Taliban Image Makeover

On CNN‘s The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, Gayatri Patel, vice president for external relations for the Women’s Refugee Commission, discussed what is happening to women and girls in Afghanistan following the Taliban’s takeover of the country.

“What we’re seeing on the ground is that women are still being harassed in the street by Taliban forces,” Patel said. “There are report after report of women and girls being kidnapped and forced into marriages to Taliban soldiers or put into sexual servitude.”
