Announcing Our Inaugural Class of Humanitarian Futures Fellows

We are thrilled to introduce you to the six remarkable women selected as our first cohort of Humanitarian Futures Fellows.

Created to support mid-career researchers exploring critical questions at the intersection of gender, displacement, and humanitarian systems, WRC’s Humanitarian Futures Fellowship centers the leadership and knowledge of displaced women. Over the eight-month program, fellows will generate research that challenges conventional humanitarian approaches and promotes inclusive, feminist alternatives.

The 2026 class of fellows come from diverse backgrounds and will be covering a broad range of research topics, feminist reconstruction in Gaza, to reproductive health among displaced women returning to Afghanistan, to girls’ access to education in contexts of cyclical displacement in DRC.

Read the fellows’ bios and learn about their research projects here.

We look forward to sharing the fellows’ research and reflections with you as the fellowship progresses.
