Leaving No One Behind: Ensuring Gender Equality and the Protection and Empowerment of Women and Girls with Disabilities in Humanitarian Action

Our project contributing to the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Task Team developing Global Guidelines on Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Humanitarian Action (IASC Disability Guidelines), supports humanitarian stakeholders to work towards gender equality and to address the protection and empowerment of women and girls with disabilities by:

  • ensuring gender is mainstreamed across the IASC Guidelines in consultation with humanitarian stakeholders;
  • drafting and piloting sector-specific guidance for gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response actors on disability inclusion;
  • developing and delivering training packages to support the rollout and implementation of the IASC Guidelines.
