    Our Motherland, Our Country: Gender Discrimination and Statelessness in the Middle East and North Africa

    29 countries deny women the right to transfer their nationality to their children.This report details the effects of this gender discrimination in two countries where the practice persists (Jordan and Kuwait) and describes the benefits where the law has changed to allow children to gain their mother’s nationality (Morocco and Egypt).

    Reproductive Health Findings from Zaatri Camp and Irbid City, Jordan. Participants' Report

    The Women's Refugee Commission participated in an Inter-agency Working Group (IAWG) on Reproductive Health in Crises assessment of priority reproductive health services—a standard of care for humanitarian emergencies, known as the Minimum Initial Services Package (MISP) for reproductive health—in Jordan in March 2013. We evaluated the extent that reproductive health services, as outlined in the MISP, were available to Syrian refugees living in Zaatri Refugee Camp and Irbid City. This report was produced for beneficiaries. 

    Baseline Survey on Safe Access to and Use of Cooking Energy in Nzulo Camp and the Surrounding Villages in North Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo

    The North Kivu Province in eastern DRC is facing a violent conflict between the Congolese army and M23 militia, which has led to massive displacement of the population to internally displaced person (IDP) camps and to host communities. The WRC & IRC undertook a survey to assess the living conditions of IDPs in relation to their acquisition and use of cooking fuel.
