Martha Gallo

Martha Gallo was the Head of Global Compliance and Regulatory Management until January, 2013 for JPMorgan Chase, a global financial services firm with assets of $2.3 trillion and operations in more than 60 countries. The firm is a leader in investment banking, financial services for consumers, small business and commercial banking, financial transaction processing, asset management and private equity.

Martha has worked for JPMorgan Chase for over 30 years and has held numerous leadership positions across the firm, including General Auditor, Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Global Finance, COO of Credit Risk, Co-Head of Technology, and CFO/COO of Technology and Operations. She also served as the Chief Auditor for JPMorgan. Martha has restructured businesses and was part of the leadership team for the JPMorgan and Chase merger.

Over the years Martha has served on a number of other firm-wide committees, including the Executive Committee, Risk Management, Technology, and the Corporate Diversity Council. Martha is on the Board of the Battery Park City Authority and the Women’s Refugee Commission. From 2008 to 2010, she was co-chair of Upwardly Global, an organization that helps highly educated New Americans find employment in their area of professional expertise. She has also served on the boards of the Governors Island Preservation & Education Corporation and the Alliance for Downtown New York.

Martha lives in Battery Park City with her husband and two daughters, ages 15 and 10. She is active in the Lower Manhattan community and was Co-President of the Battery Park City Parents and Neighbors Association from 2002-2007.

Martha is a graduate of Cornell University, with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies and a M.B.A. in Accounting and Finance.
