Fred Hamerman brings 20 years of experience to his job as writer and editor in communications. Previously he served as Grants Manager at Young Audiences New York, a nonprofit organization that provides arts programs to New York City public schools that, on their own, cannot afford them. He has also been a regular columnist for a variety of print and online publications, including the Chicago Tribune Books section and Bookreporter.com. He received a MFA from Columbia University and a BS from Oberlin College in Ohio. He joined the Women’s Refugee Commission in August 2011.
