As the Senior Program Officer for Livelihoods, Jina manages the Women's Refugee Commission's Livelihoods program, which researches and develops guidelines on appropriate livelihoods for displaced women and youth.
Prior to joining the Women's Refugee Commission, Jina was the Director of Programs at the Near East Foundation where she supervised six country offices in the Middle East and Africa. In this position, she designed field manuals and assessments and trained field staff using these tools. Her work addressed poverty assessments, gender analysis, participatory social-economic diagnostics, Institutional Needs Assessment and stakeholder analysis.
She has served as a Technical Assistance Consultant for the Resettlement office at the International Rescue Committee as well as Project Manager and Business Development Associate for Chemonics International in Washington. As Project Manager, she oversaw the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded, Aceh Technical Assistance Recovery (A-TARP) project where she supervised staff to ensure administrative, contractual and fiscal compliance with donor regulations and corporate procedures.
Jina earned her MSc in Comparative Politics at the London School of Economics and a Bachelor's degree in Government from the University of Texas at Austin.
