    Suhas Yerra leads General Insurance IT (GI) for AIG worldwide, partnering with the business to determine priorities and deliver solutions that enable GI strategy. With resources concentrated in AIG’s Information Technology hubs in Charlotte and Dublin, he is transforming GI’s operating model and approach to developing new technologies.

    In February 2016, Suhas joined AIG as the Head of Commercial Application Development and was appointed CIO of Commercial Insurance in May 2017. He was then promoted to CIO of General Insurance in November 2017.

    Throughout his time at AIG, Suhas has championed continuous delivery through Agile, DevOps, and modular architecture methodologies, which have significantly improved transparency and speed to market. He is cultivating a culture of innovation, harnessing artificial intelligence and machine-learning capabilities with digital workers, and launching Blockchain-enabled solutions. Suhas is also leading his team to deliver new and modernized technologies that create value for AIG, including the rollout of Location Level Pricing in the UK, Multinational’s client capabilities, and a new cyber risk tool which is helping to increase market share.

    Suhas is a career technologist with extensive experience in the commercial and retail financial services businesses. Before joining AIG, he served as Senior Vice President and Senior Business Technology Executive for Wholesale Credit and Investment Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In this role, Suhas led technology strategy and delivery of digital channels, service/fulfillment tools, wholesale credit/loan accounting platforms, investment banker sales tools, and client onboarding automation.

    Previously, Suhas was a Managing Director at TIAA-CREF. As Head of Digital Technology overseeing $900 billion in assets, he transformed digital channel capability serving individual and institutional customers across all business segments: pension, retirement, broker/dealer, mutual funds, hedge funds, 529 plans, retail banking, endowments, and life insurance.

    Suhas spent six years at Putnam Investments prior to joining TIAA-CREF and led CRM technology strategy and execution across retail mutual funds, defined contribution, defined benefits, and international businesses. Earlier in his career, he worked in application development, holding leadership roles at IBM Smarter Workforce (formerly Kenexa) and EA Engineering.

    Suhas earned a Master of Engineering degree from University of Maryland, College Park, and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
