Carmen O’Shea is the VP of Services Marketing at SAP. She built and leads a global team of 40 which provides marketing support to the senior services leaders for the ~$6B annual SAP services & support business. She oversees end-to-end marketing activities for services including market & competitive intelligence, messaging development, global program development & execution, events, web marketing, social media, and sales enablement.

Prior to her role at SAP, Carmen spent 7 years at IBM in a variety of strategy, consulting, marketing, and line roles in IBM’s Business Transformation Outsourcing, Software, Global Small Business, and Corporate units. She also completed a special leadership development assignment as the Special Assistant to IBM’s Executive Vice President, Innovation and Technology (CTO). Carmen was heavily involved in diversity initiatives at IBM. She created the IBM Multi-Cultural Women’s network, the first cross-constituency effort of its kind. She also led La Red, a 1000-women strong Hispanic initiative focused on leadership development of Latinas at IBM.

Carmen graduated with honors in Anthropology from Harvard University, where she served as a member of the Women’s Advisory Group to the Dean of Harvard College, a member of the Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations, and was ranked #1 in her Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps (AFROTC) class.

Carmen is a member of ITSMA’s Board of Advisors, representing SAP. She is active with several non-profit boards and organizations (Sanctuary for Families and the Women’s Refugee Commission). She is a past Board member of Community Mediation Services of Queens, NY. She served as a Captain in the Air National Guard until 2006. She speaks English, French, Greek, Spanish, Italian and basic German, Japanese, Arabic and Russian.
