    Kate Paik joined the Women’s Refugee Commission as Program Officer, Adolescent Girls, in September 2012. Kate manages our research on developing agency and social capital amongst displaced adolescent girls, promoting greater attention and support for quality and appropriate education and skills building programs. Her work includes developing short- and long-term strategic programs for the Displaced Adolescent Girls Initiative; overseeing and providing technical assistance to field-based pilot projects; and guiding the WRC's response to emerging issues related to pre-employment readiness, skills-building, and livelihoods for displaced adolescent girls. She conducts desk and field research and assessments, including developing methodologies, analyzing data, defining findings and recommendations and conducting follow-ups.

    Kate previously worked at the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), where she provided HQ-based program implementation and monitoring support in its field missions, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Georgia, Haiti, Liberia, South Sudan, Sudan and Zimbabwe. Kate has a Master’s degree in International Policy from the Wagner School at NYU. She is proficient in French.
