Omar J. Robles joined the Women's Refugee Commission in August 2013. He leads the organization's work on adolescents in emergencies—girls and boys.

Omar previously worked as a gender assessment technical advisor for the US Agency for International Development (USAID), as a consultant for the UK Department for International Development/Nike Foundation Girl Hub initiative and as a gender in emergencies consultant for CARE. He has also consulted with Instituto Promundo, GreeneWorks, MenEngage Alliance, Plan International and UNFPA. Prior to consulting, Omar was a gender and health policy advisor on the global USAID | Health Policy Initiative, implemented by Futures Group. An expert in gender, masculinities and child marriage prevention, he has worked in Afghanistan, Brazil, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Mali, Mozambique, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Africa, South Sudan, Turkey and Yemen.

Omar has a Master's degree in public health and a Bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communication, both from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and conversant in French.
